Y Meditation
I came up with a thought experiment, i.e. the follwoing: when one experiences overwhelm by the content of one’s mind, telling you, nudging you or directing you towards doing things towards ‘more’, you can try the following:
instead of all these things pushing you towards more, more fulfilment, having more and being more and thus placing you in a position of lack, not enoughness and needing and/or wanting more, you can feel gratitude, reverence and satisfaction for how all these things in your mind brought you where are you are right now, in the present, at the top, the apex, whole: looking back almost.
For example, mind fills up with: Grandmother, Gym, Reading, Studying.
Situation 1: I have to go to my grandma, go to the gym, read, study more and do all these things to feel, be and experience feeling full, enoughness and wholeness.
Situatoin 2: Having gone to my grandmother, to the gym, having read all those things and my studies have brought me to the point where I am right now. These things are why I am where I am today, whole, enough, fulfilled, at the top, enough.
In general a balance needs to be striked here, but when the mind feels overly oppressive and authorative over one’s life and emotional well-being, placing it back where it should/can be by using this method helps, placing it under the control and authority of one’s conscious will, as in the end we choose how we respond to our minds content, but not the minds’ content itself.
Might help in oppressive and/or overwhelming times.
